Poppy Park, Penrith 6th April 2015

The people behind Poppy Park, in Penrith in Sydney's west, want every fallen Australian soldier to be remembered.

Wars that Australian soldiers have seen action.

102,804 Australian Service Personnel have died in these conflicts.

2000 volunteers took 4 days to 'plant' the poppies.

Robert Weir, the first Australian soldier to die in war. Tod Chidgey, the last to die.
The lone purple poppy was for all the animals e.g. horses, dogs, carrier pigeons
that died in war.

The fellow (Owen Rogers Snr) in the green and white striped shirt was a volunteer
who was a wealth of information.

Mud in the trenches.

On the way home I noticed these fine older houses in Warwick St Penrith.
