West Australian Wildflower Trip. Day 13, Kings Park in Perth. 21 Sept 2014.

The plan for today was to visit Perth's famous Kings Park where it was Wildflower Festival time. Unfortunately the weather report wasn't on our side as very heavy rain with damaging winds were predicted, but as there was no plan B we gathered our wet weather gear and boarded the bus. The rain stayed mainly away early in the morning, by 11:30 it was starting to get a bit heavier and by 12 noon  it was time to call it quits, luckily the wind stayed away. So what was to be the 'crown' of the tour ( I think there were a few other crowns before today) sort of came to a soggy end. Martin gave us a bit of a quick history tour on our way back to the Buxton Hotel, including going past the Perth Mint where Lynn and I took the opportunity of getting off and walking back to the hotel.
That night we had our Farewell Dinner in a private room where Angus thanked us for being such a great group of people (and we were) and that then brought the tout to an end.  With all the great memories of the last 13 days Lynn and I now start on part 2 of our holiday which will be 2 more days in Perth, with friends, and then returning home on the Indian Pacific train.

The videos can only be watched on this page.

Not the best of days.

This about sums up the day.

Perth from the bus.

The Strike, sculpture at the Perth Mint.  Lynn and I got off the bus and visited the Mint.

Not a good day to be digging in the garden.

The last supper.

Norma entertained us with a potato  joke.
And that brought the tour officially to a close.
