Graduation, The Mid North Coast and New England - Day 8 (last day), 15th April 2014.
We leave Armidale for the last leg home.
At Walcha we deviate to Apsley Gorge where we have to come back nearly to Walcha again before heading down a backroad to Nowendoc, Gloucester and then home. Only saw 3 cars from the Oxley Highway turn off to Nowendoc.........my kind of road.
St. Mary & St Joseph's Catholic Cathedral, Armidale. I suppose it works out cheaper if there's 2 sharing the rent.
Southhall, 1886, Armidale.
Homeleigh, Irish Town.
Homeleigh, Irish Town. These buildings date from the 1850's when a block of 84 acres was taken up by Mary Blake. The Blake family, and their descendants the Betts family, lived here untill the 1980's.
Dear oh dear.
Fancy prancing.
Apsley Gorge.
Hope they weren't trying to spell 'HELP'.

This back corner will do me.
I don't know what was making these ripples. They weren't platypus.
Apsley Gorge.
Apsley Gorge. The orange surface on the right side of the gorge is from a landslide in 1987. In 2005 there was another minor landslip along the same section of wall. Just check for cracks in the ground if you happen to visit here.
Apsley Gorge.
There were native bluebells all along the road side.
Some sort of daisy, bluebells and Queen Anne's Lace (weed) along side of road.
This little church was just in a cow/sheep paddock. It's a long walk to the dunny (toilet) at the rear right.
Inside the church.
Never seen sheep in a paddock this green before.
Sheep and cattle on green pastures.
Carsons Pioneer Lookout, overlooking the locality of Giro.
